Submit to Carve Magazine
We accept short story, poetry, and nonfiction submissions year-round from anywhere in the world. We also pay the writers we publish. Send us your best work; we'd love to read it.
Beginning August 1, 2023, we are temporarily closing year-round submissions in all genres, so that we can can catch up on a severe backlog. We hope to reopen them sometime before the end of the year.
A BORDERLESS, INCLUSIVE, AND DIVERSE COMMUNITY
Carve seeks to fulfill its mission statement through the publication of intersectional poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. What does intersectionality mean? Simply put: that we exist as a multitude of identities and all of them are interwoven. These intersections deserve to be seen, known, and heard.
As Carve aims to be anti-racist, equitable, and inclusive in our reading practices, we will not consider submissions that are blatantly racist, violent/hateful toward a historically marginalized community, or voyeuristic/bystander writing.
We seek literature that uplifts a broad texture of lived experiences and challenges the imagination. We especially welcome and encourage submissions from Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and all voices of color, as well as those of and intersecting with queer identities.
